GDPR - General Data Protection Regulation Agreement

GDPR or General Data Protection Regulation is a new EU Regulation which will be replacing the 1995 EU Data Protection Directive (DPD) to greatly enhance the protection or personal data of EU citizens, as well as increase the obligations on organizations who collect or process personal data. It started on May 25, 2018. The regulation builds on many of the DPD’s requirements for data privacy and security but adds several new provisions to bolster the rights of data subjects and add harsher penalties for violations.

Know your rights

One of the key objectives of the new GDPR is to ensure the privacy and protection of the personal data users. To help users get the assurance of protection and privacy of their personal data, GDPR empowers data subjects with certain rights. Through these rights, users can make specific requests and be certain their private info won’t be misused for other purposes rather than the original purpose for which it was initially provided.
